INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS - HOW TO ENROLL
Enrolment takes place in the following stages:
VERIFY YOUR ELIGIBILITY: from January to 30th March.
Do not forget to upload your passport/identity card, your secondary school diploma in the original language, your Bachelor's degree in the original language and a transcript of your Bachelor's degree in English.
ENTRY TEST: Participation in the entrance test, which consists of multiple-choice test (or in an interview) to verify the candidate's requirements and personal preparation, and a written multiple-choice English test.
To be admitted to the Master's Degree in Innovation Management for Sustainable Tourism, you must pass a multiple-choice test on business, quantitative, economic and legal topics (basic knowledge required).
To enrol in the Master in Economics, you must pass a motivational interview in Italian language.
All tests and interviews will take place in March and April 2025. The last entry test for international students will be held in April 2025 (booking the entry test before the 30 of March 2025), in order to give consent to obtain the VISA before September 2025. The entry test is likely to be conducted remotely.
To be invited to the entrance test, fill in the form by 30 March 2025.
FROM the 1st of April 2025 International students could not enrol in our Master's programme for the academic year 2025/26, but you could try for the academic year 2026/27

LEGALISATION AND VISA PROCEDURES: The University of Sassari regularly verifies the completeness and relevance of the pre-enrolment applications submitted. In case of validation, the pre-enrolment application can be downloaded from the UNIVERSITALY portal (the University of Sassari does not send any letter of acceptance). The documents required for enrolment can be found in the file downloaded from the Universitaly portal. In some cases it may be necessary to present the declaration of value for the recognition of foreign qualifications in Italy (Recognition of foreign qualifications and Declaration of Value – Legalisation of documents – Ministero degli Affari Esteri e della Cooperazione Internazionale). Apply for legalisation of original academic qualifications (Legalisation of documents - Ministero degli Affari Esteri e della Cooperazione Internazionale).
Apply for a FISCAL CODE (The Italian Fiscal Code is an Italian identification code. The personal Codice Fiscale is the result of a formula applied to a person's name, date and place of birth. It is compulsory to have an Italian tax code for various activities in Italy, such as accessing the canteen service, opening an Italian bank account, buying a mobile phone number, applying for a utility connection, renting a property for more than 30 days, etc.)
PLEASE NOTE: the pre-enrolment application is intended for the subsequent application for a visa to study at an Italian university: this procedure is exclusively the responsibility of the local Italian diplomatic authorities, who will determine the procedures and conditions involved.

ENROLLMENT: once you have received your VISA, you must enrol by 15 January. Only after enrolment will you receive your student number (matricola number).
Once enrolled, students must pay their fees through the PagoPA electronic payment system (for more information, see the tutorial "PagoPa payment" at the following link: https://www.uniss.it/en/university/administration/staff-services/pagopa-payments). It is highly recommended that you keep a copy of the pre-enrolment form.
Students from non-EU countries wishing to stay for more than 90 days must apply for a RESIDENCE PERMIT within 8 days of their arrival. Do not forget to visit the website of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs before your arrival for all the information required by the Italian government.
It is MANDATORY to apply for a residence permit within 8 days of arrival.
A revenue stamp (marca da bollo of 16 Euro- you can buy it in the "Tabacchi" shop). Please attach it to the space on the first page of Modulo 1.
Photocopy of ALL pages of your password (blank pages included)
The validation from the University of Sassari declaring the length of your study period.
Photocopy of your health insurance
The payment slip of Eur 30,46 filled out.
The contract for the accommodation.
Fiscal code
Classes start at the end of September. For the academic year 2025/26, classes will be held in a face-to-face modality.

Usually in March of each year, the Italian Ministry of Universities and Research publishes the so-called "Procedures for entry, residence, enrolment of foreign students and the corresponding recognition of qualifications, for higher education courses, in Italy" valid for the new academic year.
